MedBank Foundation, Inc. is proud to welcome two new members to its Board of Directors for 2014; George T. Major Jr., Esq. and Ruel Joyner.

George T. Major, Jr., Esq.

George Major, Jr. is a native of Savannah and an associate in the litigation department of Oliver Maner LLP. Mr. Major concentrates his practice in the areas of medical malpractice defense, business litigation, plaintiff’s personal injury, and wrongful death litigation. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and went on to receive his Juris Doctorate at the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University

George is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Savannah Bar Association – Young Lawyers Division and the Georgia Tech Bar Association. Outside of his law practice, he is a member of the Wilmington Island Lions Club and The Savannah Pipes and Drums.

Ruel Joyner

Ruel Joyner is the founder and owner of 24e, a boutique furniture and design concept on Broughton Street, Savannah’s most popular design, fashion and shopping promenade.

After attending Georgia Southern University, Ruel took over his family’s furniture business. Joyner has evolved the concept from its traditional roots to its current distinctive, contemporary feel. The result is a modern yet accessible store that has won numerous awards and earned a reputation as one of the country’s preeminent design and furniture boutiques.

Joyner is also the president of the Downtown Business Association and is dedicated to making Savannah the best it can be.  MedBank Executive Director Liz Longshore Stephens says, “MedBank is thrilled to have such an influential individual on our Board. Ruel has already provided tremendous support to our organization not only with his generous donation of 24e for our 20th Anniversary Celebration in November, but he has also provided us with numerous contacts and opportunities for us to educate others on our mission.”
